Sodium hypophosphite reduction mechanism

1, and the role of the oxidizer

The phosphorus of sodium hypophosphite has a valence of +1, which can be oxidized into +3, +5 valence phosphate by electron transfer under the conditions of oxidant, oxygen, metal oxides and halogens. The reaction formula is as follows: 2NaH2PO2 + O2 → Na2HPO3 → Na3PO4

The main use

1, is the main raw material for the production of halogen-free flame retardant aluminum hypophosphite, and aluminum sulfate under the conditions of auxiliary reaction: NaH2PO2 + Al2 (SO4)3→Al(H2PO2)3 + Na2SO4, it is necessary to point out that the reaction process, the choice of auxiliaries, etc., may lead to the generation of aluminum hydroxide precipitation, which affects the quality of aluminum hypophosphite flame retardant.

2, is an organic hypophosphite, such as the main raw material of aluminum diethylphosphite flame retardant, and ethylene synthesized at high temperatures, this reaction is more complex, the synthesis is difficult, the reaction process control on the rate of acceptance, the molecular crystal type, flame retardant temperature resistance, stability have a greater impact.

3, sodium hypophosphite in nickel plating can be nickel sulfate, copper sulfate, etc. Reduced to nickel metal, to play a corrosion-resistant, abrasion-resistant, enhance the role of product surface hardness. Reaction equation is as follows: NiSO4 + 2NaH2PO2 + 2H2O → Ni + 2H3PO3 + Na2SO4, chemical nickel plating solution is often added lactic acid, citric acid, malic acid and other additives.

4, can be used for the synthetic production of calcium hypophosphite, potassium hypophosphite, nickel hypophosphite, zinc hypophosphite and other salts.
