The high-purity 99% PCl3 process produces phosphorous acid with extremely low impurity content. Common metal ions (such as iron, copper, and lead) and anions (such as sulfate and chloride ions) are mostly below the ppm level. As a binary moderately strong acid, its -OH groups readily undergo esterification and complexation reactions, exhibiting stable reducing properties superior to products of ordinary purity. Phosphorous acid is easily stored in its crystalline form at room temperature, and its aqueous solution exhibits homogeneous properties without abnormal precipitation or decomposition.
