I. Product Characteristics
1. LXF-C9417 is a high-molecular-weight composite phosphorus-containing halogen-free flame retardant for water-based coatings. It possesses excellent anti-aging and migration properties, low odor, and low volatility, meeting the standards for durable flame retardancy requirements in water-based coatings and sponges. It is a halogen-free additive flame retardant for flexible polyurethane foam, non-corrosive to glass and metals, structurally stable, with good thermal stability, low volatility, low fogging, and low VOC. It is particularly suitable for applications in adhesives, furniture, automobiles, and resins, and is applicable to various flexible polyether block foams and molded foams.
2. The required dosage for the same flame retardancy requirements is more than half that of traditional flame retardants. It is particularly suitable for producing flame-retardant foams to prevent ignition of low-intensity flames as described in Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards MVSS.No. 302 and UL94-H, and for flexible foams conforming to California Bulletin 117 standards for flame-retardant foams for furniture.
3. The halogen-free flame retardant LXF-C9417 for water-based coatings is free of TPP, TIBP, TCPP, TDCPP, TOCP, and other toxic and harmful flame retardants prohibited from being added to consumer products. The amount of flame retardant used is reduced by 45% compared to traditional flame retardants such as TPCPP.
4. The organic segments in the LXF-C9417 molecule are highly compatible with acrylic resins, polyester resins, and epoxy resins in coatings, and may even undergo physical entanglement or chemical reactions. Through its "substrate-friendly on one end, resin-friendly on the other" structure, it significantly enhances the adhesion between the coating film and the metal substrate, effectively solving problems such as coating peeling and blistering, especially in humid environments.

Water-based coating halogen-free flame retardant LXF-C9417 achieves high-efficiency flame retardancy through the synergistic effects of gas-phase flame retardancy, solid-phase flame retardancy, and catalytic char formation. Some structures can also produce synergistic effects with nitrogen-based substances. Upon thermal decomposition, phosphorus-containing free radicals such as PO・ and HPO・ are generated, which capture reactive free radicals such as ・OH and ・H in the combustion chain reaction, releasing phosphate ester vapors, diluting the concentration of oxygen and combustible gases, reducing combustion intensity, and interrupting flame propagation. Simultaneously, LXF-C9417 decomposes to generate strong dehydrating agents such as polyphosphoric acid, promoting polymer dehydration and carbonization to form a dense carbon layer that isolates heat, oxygen, and combustible gases. Some structures contain P-C bonds, exhibiting high thermal stability, which can increase the activation energy of material thermal degradation, delay high-temperature decomposition, and reduce the release of molten droplets and combustible volatiles.
